Cordless Hot Knife

Hello! I shared with you earlier how helpful it’s been to have a hot knife tool. This tool helps us cut landscape fabric quickly and cleanly without having to use a propane torch. Hot knives are precise, fast, and they help prevent fraying.

This week, we brought in a CORDLESS hot knife tool (cost: $190). AND WE LOVE IT. If you’ve been holding off on buying a hot knife— this is your sign that you held off for the right reason, because the cordless version is SWEET.

This tool came with 2 batteries, so you always have one that is fully charged and ready to go. (We haven’t had to go to the second battery while working yet.) We’re not exactly sure how long one single charge lasts, because the first battery hasn’t run out on us yet while we’ve been working.

This tool makes adding new planting holes in fabric super fast in the field and I think it has some nice applications for people who do landscaping work with fabric at various sites.
