Customizable Countdown Ticker
Hello! Here’s a bit of a follow up on a concept I shared in the last Instagram Live session about building urgency and anticipation for a sale. This might be just the “ticker” (hahah ticket!) for your holiday sales. We’re definitely going to be using some in our marketing.
I mentioned that I like to use the countdown tickers in Instagram stories. Well— here’s something similar that you can add to your website or emails.
And since I was figuring it out for my company, I thought I save you some time and share these with you, too! Cheers!
Today, I’m going to teach you how to make a customizable countdown .gif that you can add to emails or your website. A countdown timer is an effective way to show people visually that their time to participate in a sale is limited. These tickers catch the eye of people who might be just scanning an email — unwilling to read what you’ve written. If they’re at all interested in your products or services, a ticker may help catch their attention.
If you watch the full cycle of a countdown ticker, you’ll see that it isn’t really an actual ticker — BUT if the sequence is long enough, it can feel that way, and it can certainly inspire a customer to mark their calendar or check out your offering.
They certainly compel me to have a closer look! Here are a few samples that I drew up with Little Farmhouse branding. Once you understand how they work, they’re easy to make and you can use them again and again. You can also link them to the url for your shop page or anyother page on your website that you’d like them to go.
