Extended Dicentra Season
This post is about receiving dicentra early (before it’s warm enough to plant them out) and potting them up for an early round of cut flower production.
We order in bare root dicentra (bleeding hearts) and pot them into 2 gallon pots. The plants grow on in our heated green house (you could also use an indoor grow room) and quickly put up high quality stems that are good for cutting.
The plants can be added to your perennial beds when it is warm enough to do so or be sold to home gardeners.
Separately, I’m playing with learning more about video shooting and editing in this clip. We’re working on making some improvements to online courses and I wanted to see how much I could learn this weekend about 2-camera shooting, audio synching and ducking, adding b-roll, microphones and lighting, applying text overlays and animations, etc. in Descript (a really simple video editor that I’ve mentioned here before).
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to add a lot of bells and whistles to videos here each time - because editing like this does take far more time. Let me know what you think. To me, these clips are always a work in progress— they could be improved a million times over.
