Heart Shaped Wedding Bouquets

I saw some excitement this week about a bouquet I shared on Instagram with some teaser info about how it was made with my hands free method. This is the same method (generally speaking) that I’ve shared here before. Last fall, I made a tutorial video with a hands free bouquet made in these vessels from Quick Candles. The shape of that bouquet was round.

In today’s demonstration, I’ll show you how I use the same mechanic (the same vase) to make a heart-shaped bouquet.

I begin with placing some branchy foliage at about 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock in my vase. I layer in elements to support those directions and the overall shape of a heart. I finish with some floaty elements. This method is SO much easier for me than hand-held methods. For one, I have small hands and many bouquets grow too large to hold comfortably. Next- I just never felt great about any one method of wedding bouquet styling I learned from others.

I tried spiraling. I tried flipping and turning. I tried laying everything down my forearm. I tried holding my hand like a “claw” (doesn’t that sound comfortable?). You name it. I tried it. And then I stopped and decided to keep it simple and I’ve never gone back.

Have a look at how I make these bouquets in the video below.
