Water Tube Prep & Transport

Here’s a quick tip that is especially helpful for designers tasked with installing arbor designs or similar on their own at an event OR for anyone looking to trim time from a setup schedule

Here I am filling some water tubes and adding some roses to them in preparation for an arbor installation this weekend. One tip: water tubing does not need to happen during your farming hours if you need more daylight time for farming tasks or have other commitments. This easy task can be done on the sofa and/or with kids. It can also be sent home with a staff member who would like some work-from-home hours. We’ll do a special segment about WFH and a whole bunch of tasks that can be done away from the farm in order to save time during farming hours.

And now for my favorite part: the organizing. See how I organize and transport lots of water tubes so that I can install an arbor design at the top of a ladder without going up and down a bunch of times. I love to exercise, but extra steps and movements on installation day add to your labor costs and time away from your family on the weekend. If you don’t have someone to assist you, a 50-cell deep root trainer may be a great substitute assistant. And this is an easy way to move all these water tubes, too!! You can easily fit several in each cell. So- about 150 prepared water tubes per tray. 💫
